Founded in 2025, Kennett is an independent art consultancy based in Santa Barbara, California.
Offering guidance in art collecting and collection management, we tailor each engagement to individual client interests, resources, and long-term goals. Grounded in a commitment to making art accessible and inclusive, we help clients discover and navigate contemporary art with confidence. Whether you are a seasoned collector or just beginning, we provide informed, thoughtful consultation that supports meaningful and lasting connections to art.
Who We Are
Kennett was founded by Rachel Heidenry in 2025. She holds degrees from Bard College and New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts, with a specialization in modern and contemporary art of the United States and Latin America. With over a decade of museum experience, as well as years working in digital agencies, Rachel brings deep insight into contemporary art and project management. Her favorite items to collect include documentary photography, self-taught art, and contemporary ceramics.
Kennett operates through a trusted network of art professionals, including archivists, collection managers, and fabricators. We’ll assemble a team tailored to your specific needs, ensuring expertise and care at every stage.
Why the name Kennett?
Rachel grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, on a small street, Kennett Place. The name reflects her family’s history and roots in historic preservation, and is a tribute to the importance of continuity and place that grounds much of her work.
